Coach Reyna Has Cornered More Debuts Than Anybody In The Valley
Twenty-six years of coaching, a gym behind a tire shop, and a rule about who she will and will not train.

If you have watched a Big Dawg card, you have seen Coach Reyna in somebody's corner. Usually somebody making their first walk.
The gym
She has run the same gym behind a tire shop for nineteen years. There is no sign. There is a bell that has been rewired twice and a heavy bag older than most of the people hitting it.
Who she trains
Anybody who shows up three times. That is the whole test. She does not screen for talent, she screens for whether you come back after the first week is over and the novelty is gone.
Who she will not train
Anybody who wants a fight in the next month. She has turned away fighters with real ability because they wanted a bout before they were ready, and she has been right often enough that people stopped arguing.
In the corner
Between rounds she says fewer words than any coach we work with. Usually three or four. Fighters say it is the only thing they can actually hear when the room is loud.
One instruction. If they cannot do one, two will not help.
What she has built
Eleven of the fighters currently on our roster came through her gym. Most of them still stop by on Saturdays. She does not charge them for it and never has.
