Some fights get made because fans demand them. This one got made because the two of them finally stopped finding reasons.

The main event

Both fighters train within four miles of each other. Both have beaten the same two opponents. Both spent three years telling anybody who asked that they would take the fight tomorrow while quietly waiting for the other one to sign first. In February they both signed inside the same week.

Styles

One is a pressure fighter who wins rounds by never letting the other man reset. The other is a counter puncher with the best defense on our roster and a habit of coasting in rounds he has already banked. If the counter puncher gets to round four even, he probably wins. If he does not, he probably does not.

The co-main

A heavyweight bout that will either be spectacular or end in ninety seconds. There is no third outcome with these two.

Undercard worth arriving early for

Two debuts and a returning fighter who has not been in the ring since a hand injury last summer. Debut bouts are where the next two years of our main events come from.
