A Local's Guide To Fight Night In Fresno
Where to park, when to eat, which side of the room to sit on, and where everybody ends up after the last bell.

Fight night downtown has a rhythm. If you live here you already know most of it. If you are driving in from Clovis, Madera or further out the 99, here is how to do it without spending the first hour lost.
Get downtown by six
Traffic around the 41 and 180 interchange stacks up between five and six-thirty. If you can be parked by six, you get a relaxed hour instead of a stressed twenty minutes. If you cannot, come down Blackstone rather than fighting the freeway exit.
Eat before, not at the venue
Arena food is arena food. Downtown has better within a five-minute walk, and Chinatown and the Tower District are both close enough to make an evening of it. Order early. Kitchens near the venue get slammed around six-thirty on event nights.
Where to sit
- Floor seats for the sound and the corner conversations
- Lower bowl center for the best read on scoring
- Upper level if you are bringing kids or first-timers who want a wide view
The walk back
Downtown after the last bell is busier than people expect, which is a good thing. Stay on the lit routes toward the garages, and if you parked six blocks out, walk with the crowd rather than cutting through side streets.
After the fights
The Tower District stays open late and absorbs most of the post-fight crowd. It is a fifteen minute drive or a short ride, and it is where you will find fighters from the undercard eating with their families two hours after they fought.
If you are coming from out of town
Fresno sits within an hour of Clovis, Madera, Selma, Kingsburg, Sanger and Reedley, and within two of Visalia and Merced. Nearly every card we run pulls from all of them. Book a room downtown if you are coming from Bakersfield or Modesto, since the drive home at eleven at night on the 99 is nobody's favorite.
